The Fever
by Wallace Shawn

Picture

Starring

Picture
Robert Hinds -  Robert first came upon The Fever after attending a reading by the author. That same night, he read the play in the small hours of the morning on a graveyard shift, and was hooked.
Robeet moved to Seattle just over a year ago, after finishing an MFA in acting at Purdue University.  Since then he has worked with Wooden O, ArtsWest, and STAGEright, among others.  It is a great joy for him to get to work on this project and is very grateful for everyone who is going on this journey with him, before and after the house lights go down.

Director

Olson -  Actor, playwright, director and founder of New Muses Theatre Company, Olson's work has been seen throughout the Puget Sound.  Directing accomplishments include David Mamet's Oleanna, William Shakespeare's Hamlet, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, Laura Cunningham's Flop Cop, his own Last Waltz on a Midnight Violin, Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, and Anthem: A Musical Theatre Cabaret.  BFA in Theatre from Pacific Lutheran University.  www.NiclasOlson.com

And when you wake up in the middle of the night--unexpectedly--when you wake up at an odd hour--when you're traveling somewhere and you wake up in a strange place--don't you feel frightened?

New Muses proudly presents Wallace Shawn's Obie Award winning drama of guilt, sin, sickness, and redemption.  Robert Hinds stars as the tourist in a strange land.  Sick, tired, sprawled on the cold bathroom tile of a dirty hotel, he struggles with his own privilege, his own normality.  Suffering as he sees the poor around him.  Suffering the sounds of violence in this small war-torn country.  Suffering for the chance to change the frozen world.  Suffering for the strength to accept his own existence.  Powerful and challenging, filled with Shawn's trademark wit and provocative humor, THE FEVER is a dark whisper of the thoughts and ideals which maintain the landscape of our lives.
