THE COMPANY (2023-24)
New Muses is comprised of a seasonal company of theatre artists and tenured artistic associates joining together to produce intelligent, thought-provoking, and engaging theatre for a contemporary audience.
Big Anderson - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
This is Big’s first production at New Muses. Big earned her BA in Visual Narrative Design from SPU, where she acted in A WRINKLE IN TIME (Meg), AN IDEAL HUSBAND (Mabel), and MEN ON BOATS (Bradley). Big is often on-screen in local films and has appeared with Princess Cruises and American Immersion Theater. Big dedicates her performance to her dad, Mike.
Bethany Bevier* - Box Office Manager/ Production Stage Manager
Bethany began working with New Muses during the 2011-12 Season. Her sound designs include THE SHAPE OF THINGS; DOCTOR FAUSTUS (BWW Nomination); MISS JULIE; INTO THE WOODS; ROMEO AND JULIET (BWW Nomination), PEER GYNT, A SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS (BWW Nomination), LYSISRATA, and FRANKENSTEIN as well as many installments of the one-night-only staged reading series. She has worked throughout the Puget Sound as a stage manager including New Muses’ INTO THE WOODS. M.Ed from Eastern Washington University.
Wendy Cohen - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
Wendy is excited to be working with this wonderful cast on one of her favorite stories. Living in the two Washingtons, she has been privileged to work in both. Favorite recent shows: THE MOLD THAT CONQUERED THE WORLD, Community Drama (DC), TARTUFFE, BELL BOOK AND CANDLE, MISS HOLMES (Tacoma). She also sings with Joyful!Noise, Alexandria Singers and Market Street singers.
Kayla Crawford - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
This is Kayla's New Muses debut! At Lakewood Playhouse you’ve seen her in the irreverent AVENUE Q as a Bad Idea Bear, Mrs. Thisletwat and with her hand up in every other puppet. Additionally, she has been part of the three person rendition of THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES as Watson and Laura O’Hanlon in YES, VIRGINIA, THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS. Kayla thanks her mother, the Academy and her bunnies and is thrilled to be a part of this production of WINNIE THE POOH.
Jeannine Early - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
This is Jeannine’s first show in Tacoma. She works as a stage actor mainly in and around the Seattle area. She was most recently seen in Woodinville playing Mother Miriam Ruth in Heart Rep’s production of AGNES OF GOD.
Erinne Kellogg - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh, The Glass Menagerie)
Erinne is excited to be stage managing for New Muses' 2023-24 Season. Erinne previously appeared onstage in INTO THE WOODS (Lucinda/Grandma) and SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR (Stage Manager), along with having been the board operator for multiple productions. It’s always a pleasure to work for New Muses and she is grateful for the opportunity!
Nyree Martinez - Company Member (The Glass Menagerie)
Nyree Martinez was born and raised in the PNW and attended PLU earning a degree in Education and U of W earning a degree in Drama. She has worked regionally with The Shakespeare Theatre in Wash DC as well as Alabama Shakespeare Festival and toured nationally in the cult classic MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL. Nyree would like to dedicate her performance to the amazing team at Fred Hutch Cancer Center, all of her caregivers, family, friends and, last but not least, her bone marrow donor. It’s great to be healthy and back onstage!
Alexandria Melville - Company Member (The Glass Menagerie)
Alexandria Melville is so excited to be part of this production of THE GLASS MENAGERIE! She has been seen onstage in EURYDICE (Little Stone, University of Washington Tacoma) and FOOTLOOSE (Ensemble, Northwest Theatre Lab), and backstage at RENT (TLT) and BEAUTIFUL (TMP). She would like to thank Maria-Tania, Jen, Blair, Lia, Sydney, Ginger, the casts of RENT and BEAUTIFUL, and her incredibly supportive friends and family! Hope y'all enjoy the show!
Mickie M Milton - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
Mickie is a local Tacoman returning to the stage after a 5 year hiatus. Favorite past roles include Olive O in 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE and Henry Bolingbroke in RICHARD II. They would like to extend waves of gratitude to their best friends, family, and her partner, Asa, for being so loving and supportive constantly. “Thank you, to whoever is reading this, as well, for supporting your local artists and a local theatre. Three cheers for art! Hip, hip, hooray!”
Niclas Olson* - Managing Artistic Director
An actor, playwright, director, and designer, Olson's work has been featured at theaters throughout the western United States and Canada. As the founder and managing artistic director of New Muses Theatre Company, he has helmed productions of classic works by Shakespeare (HAMLET, ROMEO & JULIET), Aristophanes (LYSISTRATA), Ibsen (GHOSTS, A DOLL'S HOUSE, PEER GYNT), Strindberg (MISS JULIE), Marlowe (DOCTOR FAUSTUS) and Wilde (THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST), along with contemporary works from Stephen Sondheim (INTO THE WOODS), Neil Labute (THE SHAPE OF THINGS, REASONS TO BE PRETTY) and Wallace Shawn (THE FEVER). His regional credits include the entirety of Tony Kushner's ANGELS IN AMERICA at Olympia Little Theatre and OF MICE AND MEN, MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE, THE LIBRARY, and EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL for Tacoma Little Theatre. His award-winning lighting and scenic designs are regularly featured by clients including Tacoma Little Theatre, Tacoma Arts Live, Dukesbay Productions, Centerstage Theatre, the Lakewood Playhouse, UW Tacoma, Civic Rep Theatre, and Toy Boat Theatre. As an actor he is recognized for the title roles in Aaron Sorkin's THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION (LPH, NW Premiere), DOCTOR FAUSTUS, ROMEO AND JULIET, PEER GYNT, FRANKENSTEIN, two runs as HAMLET (New Muses), and THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY (TMP) to recent performances as Tom in THE GLASS MENAGERIE and Seymour Krelbourn in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (LPH). His adaptations of classic plays are regularly commissioned and published by New Muses Theatre Company and his original works have been staged at Pacific Lutheran University. Riley O'Neill - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
Riley is thrilled to be making her New Muses debut! Notable credits include, Violet Bick, Martini and others (IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE), Andi (ONE CHRISTMAS EVE AT EVERGREEN MALL), and “Jamesy” (THE ORIGINALS), at Olympia Little Theatre. Riley most recently appeared in the 253 Film Festival Jury Award winner “May We Be Them” by Oly Film. Riley thanks her friends and family for their support and her cat Karma for inspiring her performance.
Kyle Sinclair - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
This is Kyle’s first show with New Muses. Most recently, he played the Prince in Centerstage’s holiday panto SLEEPING BEAUTY. Other notable credits include Charles Haversham (THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG, TLT), Black Stache (PETER & THE STARCATCHER, LPH), Princeton/Rod (AVENUE Q, LPH), The Game (THE OREGON TRAIL, Centerstage), and Franz Liebkind (THE PRODUCERS, LPH).
Ben Stahl - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
WINNIE THE POOH marks Ben’s fourth appearance with New Muses Theatre Company. Recent credits include THE LIAR with Theatre Artists Olympia, THE GIVER at Lakewood Playhouse, and in December, he published his first work as an audiobook narrator, The Sword of the Spirit: The Story of William Tyndale. Ben would like to thank his family, friends, and fellow artists for their support and hopes you enjoy the show!
Travis Tingvall - Company Member (The Glass Menagerie)
New Muses debut! Travis has been seen around the PNW as Herman/Max in CABARET (Harlequin Productions), Bottom in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (Tacoma Arts Live), Freddy in DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS (Centerstage), Billy in THE RISE AND FALL OF LITTLE VOICE (ArtsWest), Christopher Wren in THE MOUSETRAP (Renton Civic Theatre), and Corny Collins in HAIRSPRAY (Auburn Community Players). Shawn Torrey - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
Shawn is delighted to be making his debut at New Muses Theatre Company. He recently worked with Tacoma Musical Playhouse in THE PROM as Teen Ensemble and Valley Center Stage in SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE as Sam/Musicians. He wants to thank his friends and family for always supporting his passions.
Ella Mei Williamson - Company Member (Winnie the Pooh)
Ella is a junior in the Musical Theatre Program at the University of Utah and a Seattle native. She recently performed in an original adaptation of ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND (University of Utah). Some of her favorite credits include SPONGEBOB JR. (Youth Theatre at the U), R&H CINDERELLA (Liberty High School), and GREASE (Liberty High School).
