New Muses is comprised of a seasonal company of theatre artists and tenured artistic associates joining together to produce intelligent, thought-provoking, and engaging theatre for a contemporary audience. The title of artistic associate is a tenured position offered to artists New Muses feels best exemplify the mission of the company and wishes to champion and promote in their exploration of the theatrical arts.

Brittany Griffins - Company Member
This is Brittany's first staged reading and first production with New Muses. She is delighted to be sharing the stage with this wonderful cast. She was last seen in Spamalot at Lakewood Playhouse. Her favorite role so far is Brooke Ashton in Noises Off, with TOAD. She would like to thank Josh for always encouraging her to do things outside of her element. Enjoy!
Katelyn Hoffman - Company Member
Katelyn Hoffman is delighted to be a part of another New Muses production. Last summer, she played Jennie in The Shape of Things with New Muses. She was last seen in Moonlight and Magnolias at Tacoma Little Theatre. She has been in many shows over the years at different theatres in the Greater Tacoma Area including the Lakewood Playhouse, Tacoma Little Theatre, Dukesbay Theatre, and Theatre Arts Olympia.
Katherine Mahoney - Company Member
Katherine Mahoney has been on and off stage throughout the sound as an actor, stage manager, director, and playwright. Past credits include CB’s Sister in Dog Sees God, Female Chorus in How I Learned to Drive, and various parts of The Vagina Monologues. She attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and is currently at Pacific Lutheran University.
Lauren Nance - Artistic Associate
Lauren is an actor, singer, and dancer whose credits include Titanic, Nine, Sweeney Todd, All Shook Up, H.M.S. Pinafore, RENT, Company, The Spitfire Grill, Our Country's Good, Proof, A Dream Play, Cabaret, Twelfth Night, Into the Woods, and Oklahoma. Lauren is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University's BFA Acting and Directing program.
Niclas R. Olson - Managing Artistic Director
Actor, playwright, director and founder of New Muses Theatre Company, Olson's work has been seen throughout the Puget Sound. Directing accomplishments include David Mamet's Oleanna, William Shakespeare's Hamlet, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, Wallace Shawn's The Fever, Laura Cunningham's Flop Cop, his own Last Waltz on a Midnight Violin, Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, The Emperor's New Clothes, and Anthem: A Musical Theatre Cabaret. Kaylie Rainer - Company Member
Kaylie has a BA in Theatre from WWU and studied Commedia in Italy. Recent roles include Susan (The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe; OFT), Rooster (Bluebeard; Assemblage), and BAT’s all-female Jesus Christ Superstar. She will return to SOTA, her alma mater, in January to teach Theatre Production and Actor’s Studio. Kaylie thanks her family, Dylan, and Seinfeld re-runs for keeping her sane.
Jacob Tice - Company Member
Jacob has been working as an actor in the Puget Sound for about 4 years. Recently he has appeared as Vic Fleming in Moonlight and Magnolias, at Tacoma Little Theatre, Juror #2 in 12 Angry Men, and Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice at The Lakewood Playhouse.
