            Blithe Spirit
            by Noel Coward

            Picture

Charles Condomine is a successful novelist in the 1940's.  Looking for inspiration for his next book he invites the "happy medium"  Madame Arcati (Laverne "Cookie" Troxel, The Importance of Being Earnest) to conduct a seance at his home.  During the seance she inadvertently summons Charles first wife Elvira (Kina Ericksen), dead for seven years.  Only Charles can see or hear Elvira and his present wife, Ruth (Miranda Rowland, The Importance of Being Earnest), doesn't find his supposedly one sided conversations amusing in the least.  As Charles tries to extricate himself from the situation and keep both of his wives happy, hilarity ensues.

Premiering in London during the 1941 season, Blithe Spirit became a smash hit for playwright Noel Coward (Private Lives, Hay Fever).  Enjoying a Broadway production later that same year, and several revivals, the play has gone on to a long life in regional and community theaters around the world.  The perfect comic farce for the halloween season, you will delight at the festive hijinks and madcap action in this comic gem.

Also featuring Bruce Roberts (Hamlet), Lynn Bishop, and Niclas R. Olson (Hamlet) as Charles Condomine.  Directed by Niclas R. Olson.

Blithe Spirit played its final performance on November 7, 2010
Blithe Spirit was produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
